A wedding invitation plays an important role in any Christian wedding ceremony, as it serves to welcome the guests and to express the joy of the bride and groom at the marriage they are about to enter. It also sets the tone for the kind of celebration that will be had at the wedding reception.

Although there are several elements that should be included on a wedding invitation, there are few essential elements that all good invitations have in common.

In this article, we will share with you what these five essential elements are and why they are important to include. Here’s our guide to designing Christian Wedding Invitation Cards!

Backdrop of Church

Church backdrop is a must-have for a wedding invitation, and it can be done in many different ways. One way to do it is by printing the name of the church or its address on the back. You can also go with an illustration of the church building if you want to get more creative with your design.

A silhouette of the bride and groom at the door of the church is another option. If you’re looking for something even more abstract, try putting an illustration of love (e.g., two people holding hands) instead.

Font Choices

Choosing the right font can be tough but there are some that work better than others. One font that is commonly used for wedding invitations is called Myriad because it has a classic, elegant look to it.

However, if you want something a bit more modern and stylish, you can use Neutral or Arial Black which both have bolder lines and stand out more on the page.

Text Layout

Christian wedding invitation cards are often made to look like an open book with two pages. The front page will have the title, Mr. and Mrs. James Smith invites you to their marriage on the top left corner, and the couple’s names on the bottom right corner.

The second page is for writing in all the important information about the ceremony such as when it is taking place and where.

Color Scheme

There are many different colors to choose from when designing your wedding invitation. The color scheme you choose should match the theme, style and seasonality of your wedding.

If you’re hosting an outdoor summer wedding, selecting a pastel or bright color is best. If you’re hosting an intimate winter wedding in a venue with lots of candles, choosing deep jewel tones or gold shades is best.

Caricature

This is an excellent illustration for religious posters, wedding invitations, greeting cards or anything else related to this topic.
